Red Bulls sign five to developmental contracts

Red Bull New York announced on Thursday that Major League Soccer has signed midfielders Danleigh Borman and Kevin Mesa, goalkeepers Danny Cepero and Caleb Patterson-Sewell and defender John Gilkerson to developmental contracts to play for the Red Bulls. Borman was drafted by the Red Bulls out of the University of Rhode Island in the first round of the 2008 Supplemental Draft, Mesa joined the team on a trial this winter, Cepero, who is in his second year with the team, was acquired in the ‘07 Supplemental Draft, Patterson-Sewell joins the team after spending the past year with the Cleveland City Stars of the USL?s Second Division and Gilkerson was selected by New York in the third round (35th overall) in the ‘08 MLS Supplemental Draft.
